Bone Density Testing and Body Fat Analysis

Osteoporosis is a thinning of the bones where the bones become more fragile and are more likely to break. A bone density test determines whether you have osteoporosis or are at risk of osteoporosis.

In the past, osteoporosis could only be detected after you broke a bone. A bone density test makes it possible to know your risk of breaking bones before it happens.

A bone density test uses X-rays to measure how much calcium and other bone minerals are packed into a segment of bone. There is growing evidence that clearly links body composition with health risks and the development of certain diseases.  New research indicates that fat loss, not weight loss, can extend human longevity.  By measuring body fat, a person’s health status can be more accurately assessed and the effects of both dietary and physical activity programs better directed.

Stress Echocardiogram

A stress echocardiogram is a very effective, noninvasive test that can help determine whether a patient has blockages in their coronary arteries. If there are blockages, it can determine the severity of the problem. The test is performed to see whether the heart muscle is getting enough blood flow and, therefore, enough oxygen when it is working hard. The purpose is to discover and potentially treat any blockage or disease before serious or life-threatening problems develop.

Echocardiography System with Metabolic Stress Testing and Vascular Studies

The GE machine is a high-end, echocardiography imaging system that provides complete cardiology studies and outstanding images. The GE system offers a full range of capabilities including harmonic mode, high frame rate color flow mapping, Doppler, stress echo, digital image management and built-in DICOM connectivity. In addition, our system includes hernia, bladder, peripheral vascular , carotid and aorta testing.

Sleep Study Analysis

Our sleep monitors are portable and you are tested at home, in the comfort of your own environment. Parameters measured or derived during the night include oxygen saturation, heart rate, sleep and wake states, REM and non-REM sleep.

24-hour Blood Pressure Monitor

Medical Equipment

Oscar 2 Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitor (ABPM)

The Oscar 2™ system from SunTech Medical sets the standard in ABPM by meeting the highest clinical standards, optimizing patient comfort through innovation, and giving clinicians practical interpretive analysis and reporting tools.

The blood pressure monitor is a light; compact monitor that uses motion-tolerant algorithms to reduce re-inflates and failed readings. The auto-intelligent inflation pressure also reduces measurement time, promoting patient comfort by controlling cuff inflation.

Pulmonary Function Test

The body plethysmograph provides the clinician with complete pulmonary function testing capacity to improve diagnostic capability and make testing accurate. The body plethysmograph is a pulmonary function system consisting of a cabinet in which the patient sits during the test and a computer that controls testing and data output. The system measures, spirometry, thoracic lung volumes and airways resistance. It also includes tests for diffusing capacity.

Nerve Conduction Study

Nerve conduction studies are used mainly for evaluation of paresthesias, numbness, tingling, burning and/or weakness of the arms and legs. In a nerve conduction study, several flat metal disc electrodes are taped or pasted to the patient’s skin. A shock-emitting electrode is placed directly over the nerve to be studied. A recording electrode is placed over the muscles supplied by that nerve. Several brief electrical pulses are sent to the nerve. The patient will feel a brief, burning pain, a tingling sensation and a twitching of the muscle when the electrical pulse is applied. The measurements from the test are used in diagnosis of illnesses such as peripheral neuropathy, diabetic neuropathy, and carpal tunnel syndrome.

The test is performed to see whether the heart muscle is getting enough blood flow and, therefore, enough oxygen when it is working hard. Jamar Dynamometer

Jamar Hand Dynamometer is ideal for routine screening of grip strength and initial and ongoing evaluation of patients with hand trauma and dysfunction. Jamar Hand Dynamometer hydraulics and isometric design ensures accurate and reproducible results.

Digital Retinal Scanner

The screening function allows routine patients to be screened for age-related macular degeneration and optic disc abnormalities such as glaucoma. These images can be obtained in as little as three minutes, in most cases without dilation.

PillCam Capsule Endoscopy

During the PillCam Capsule Endoscopy procedure, a patient swallows a vitamin-sized pill with a camera inside. The pill is transported smoothly and painlessly through the GI tract by the body’s own natural peristalsis. The PillCam video capsule transmits images of the GI tract to a data recorder that allows for imaging.

24-hour Holter Monitor

A Holter monitor is a machine that continuously records the heart’s rhythms. The monitor is usually worn for 24 – 48 hours during normal activity. Electrodes are pasted onto the patient’s chest and attached to a small recording monitor. The monitor records the heart’s electrical activity to detect if there have been any irregular heart rhythms. The DigiTrak monitor provides three channels EASI full 12 lead ECG analysis using only five electrodes. This is more comfortable for patients and provides less artifact. DigiTrak provides full disclosure; data is not compressed and all the beats are recorded and available for analysis. All recorders have pacemaker capability.

Audiogram

The Auto Tymp is a versatile combination instrument that provides testing capability for tympanometry alone, tympanometry combined with screening acoustic reflex measurements, and screening audiometry. It detects and documents otitis media, perforated tympanic membrane, patent tympanostomy tube, ossicular disruption, tympanosclerosis and cholesteatoma. In addition, the Auto Tymp provides a manual audiometry, giving users more options and more data, for more complete diagnoses and documentation.

Plethysmography

The DynaPulse Pathway System has a unique algorithm that produces very accurate blood pressure measurements.
